If you've been wondering why it's seemed harder to get an Xbox Series X recently, you're not alone. While it's fairly easy to find an Xbox Series S, and in fact there are even with games for the same price as just the console, the same can't be said of its more capable counterpart. The last Xbox Series X restock was more than a week ago, and it's not clear when the next one will be. There have been no official announcements for an Xbox Series X restock, but that doesn't mean a surprise restock won't happen today. Many retailers offer Xbox Series X restocks without warning, which is why we keep a constant eye out for them.
Here are our tips for scoring a console safely and without paying inflated prices.
Timing: Unannounced restocks typically happen after 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET) unless they come from Target, which tends to drop them before 6 a.m. PT (9 a.m. ET).Walmart, GameStop and Best Buy have membership subscriptions that frequently offer early access to restocks, but they're not always required. Even if you don't pay for early access, you should still create an account with these retailers for faster checkout.Install the app for your preferred retailer, which is often faster to use than the websites, but it's better to use both.
